LONDON MISSIONARY SOCIETY.
Mr. F. Meadowcroft presided at a local auxiliary meeting held in the Newtown Congregational Church on Thursday. In the draft of a circular letter which is to go round the churches, tho urgent need of funds for the L.M.S. is stressed. The amount raised by the Wellington Auxiliary was £303 l_6s 3d for the year 1909. The chairman declared that the local auxiliary should endeavour to raise the sum to £450 for 1910. The Ladies' Auxiliary notified that it had decided to have a missionary book put on its table, and that a bazaar is to be held in June to augment the funds. It was decided that the book, "The Reproach of Islam," should be the text book in connection with the study circles for the coming winter. It was decided by the Income and Enlargement Committee that ministeis should exchange pulpits once a quarter and preach a sermon on missionary work. The. next meeting of the auxiliary will be held on 15th June.
