Mr. Foster Fra'-er (who recently \ made a tour of Australia, and New Zealand), in an nilicle in the Standard, accused young Australians of blackness and flaccidity, due to their languorous climate. ! Mr. Coghlan (Agent -General /nr New South Wales), m reply, points to the proficiency of young Australians in athletics, and denies that the Australian workmen's energy and enterprise are inferior -to Englishmen's. He instances the Australian linotypers, compositors, coopers, and bricklayers as being quicker workers than the English.
