BRITISH DESTROYERS COLLIDE.
BOW OF EACH VESSEL STOVE IX. By Telegraph.— Frees Association.— Copyright. ROME, 24th March. The destroyers Stag and Mallard collided whilst manoeuvring off Syracuse, Sicily. The bow of each vessel was stove in, but the airtight compartments prevented them sinking. Marconigrams brought the cruisers Bacchante and Aboukir, which tugged the destroyers to a place of safety. The Stag is a twin-screw vessel of 345 tons, built in 1900. The Mallard is Also a twin-screw boat, hihe was built in 1896. Her tonnage is 340 tons.
