TRAGIC MOTOR ACCIDENT.

A terrible automobile accident occurred on the night of 10th February, reports a Paris correspondent, on the road between Bordeaux and Pau. M. de Muu, the well-known French sportsman, started fiom Bordeaux for Pau on a 120 h.p. racing machine. With him weie a cn&uh*eur nnd a Danish friend named Johannsen. .M. do Mun was driving, and the machine was travelling about sixty miles an hour. At ono point of the road, coming round a turn, M. de Mun found a heavily laden wagon blocking the fairway. lie gave a sharp turn to the steering wheel in order to avoid colliding with the other vehicle, and the automobile dashed against a tree, capsizing. The chauffeur, who was seated on the step, was flung into a ditch containing several feet of water, and so escaped unhurt. He ran to the assistance ot M. de Mun, and dragged him from the overturned automobile. While endeavouring to rescue M. Johannsen tho petrol tank exploded, setting (ire to tht debris of the machine. The helpless Danish visitor, pinned beneath the machine, was burnt to death. The deceased was an aviator, and was going to the Pau aviation ground for the purpose of making experiments with a new monoplane. M. de Muu, who was severely injured, was removed to Pau, where he is now receiving medical attention. M. Johannson (says Ueuter) was director of the Autotaxis Company of Copenhagen, and was 36 years of age. Beside the remains was afterwards found a gold cigarette case 6et with the Russian Imperial Eaglo in precious stones, a gift from the Tsar.
