CHARGE OF ASSAULT.

a change of assault on Bucnanan Scott, bailiff's assistant, was brought in the Magistrate's Court to-day, before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., against a comparatively young man named Richard White, alias Victor White, alias Alexander Hepworth. It is alleged that Scott, vvho is an elderly man, visited accused's House in Courtenayplace yesterday, in pursuance of his usual duties. It was there that he received a blow' on the head necessitating medical attention . and some stitches being placed in the wound. Mr. Herdman appeared for accused, who pleaded not guilty. Sub-Inspector Norwood, who prosecuted, applied for a remand. He mentioned that informant was unable to be present in court, as he was confined to his bed as the result of his injuries. Mr. Riddell accordingly remanded accused till next Monday. Bail was fixed at £100, in two sureties of £50 each.
