SETTLERS' NEEDS. ' [BY. TELEGRAPH — SPECIAL TO THE POST.] AUCKLAND, This Day. During a visit to settlements on the Main Trunk line, Mr. W. T. Jennings, M.P., has been interviewed at Raurimu by the Kaitieke settlers with regard to school and telephonic matters, and road matters were brought before the member at Oio, Owhango, and Ongarue. The constant winter rains and increased traffic has played havoc with roads throughout the district. At Kakahi, on Friday night, Mr. Jennings was entertained at a complimentary "social" held by residents in his honour. He spoke feelingly about the loss the district had sustained owing to the death of Mr. A. E. Remington, who was one of the staunchest and best representative the outlying districts had in Parliament.
