The Methodist Conference appointed a committee to draw up a working scheme with respect to an independent conference, for submii&ion to the June quarterly circuit meetings. Up to the present 25 congregations have considered the question, the number of office-bearers present at the deliberations being 457. Of this number, 312 voted in favour of separation and 126 opposed it, while 19 took up a neutral attitude.
