The Federal Treasury suggests that the new silver coinage should bear the impress of the continent of Australia. [The new coinage will be issued, about the beginning of next year. It will bear the head of the King on one side and some easily-recognised Australian design on the other. The suggested map of Australia has been objected to as inartistic, a ligure of a kangaroo being most generally favoured.] IMPRACTICABLE. LONDON, 10th July. LONDON, 10th July. The estate of the late Sir Daniel Cooper was worth £123,763, not including his propurty in Australia. The deceased bequeathed Barraud's picture of the racehorse Fisherman to the Australian Jockey Club. THE COLONIAL ORDER. LONDON, 10th July. The Grand Cross of the Order of -St. Michael aud St. George lias been conferred on Sir William Edward Goschen, British Ambassador to Ueimany. DYNAMITERS AT WORK. ADELAIDE, This Day. Burglars visited three stations on* the Port Adelaide line, and blew open two safes, but secured altogether only six pounds. WESTRALIAN FINANCE. PERTH, This Day.
