Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house under date Bth inst. : — '"Tallow — Since our last wire, medium and inferior descriptions are 6d higher, other sorts unchanged. Leather — Market very firm. Hides — Prices ad lower. Basils — These aro in rather better demand. Frozen meat — Since our last wire prices for beef arc lower by id, owing to a larger supply of chilled. Demand for beef is only fair. Prices for light descriptions of mutton are rather dearer, other descriptions as per our last telegram. The lamb market is weak and tending downwards. Ne\v Zealand prime crossbred lamb, Canterbury light, medium quality, 3^d por lb, secondary qualities and Canterbury heavy, 3id ; North Island light, 3£d; other descriptions, 3d to 3sd. Supplies of frozen mutton and lamb are in excess of requirements. The discharge of vessels is delayed owing to stores being full."
