BISHOP'S RESOLUTION. A VOICE FOR* COMPULSORY SERVICE. (Cy Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) LONDON, 9th July. The Upper House of Convocation at Canterbury has adopted a resolution mging the desirableness ot securing the preservation and strengthening of the bonds of friendsh^ at present existing between Great Britain and Germany. The Right Rev. Dr. Wordsworth, Bishop of Salisbury, in the course of the debate on the motion, expressed the opinion that ' ' compulsory service is necessary if we are to keep the peace with.Germany. It will develop manliness, discipline, and patriotism in Britons."
