LONDON WOOL SALES.
PRICES FIRM. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. ■ (Received' June 9, 9.55 a.m.) LONDON, Bth July. At the wool sales there is an animated sale and a better tone. Prices are firm at opening rates. THE REPORTED "POOR SELECTION." AUCKLAND, Bth July. On enquiries being made amongst the Auckland woolbrokers to-day, it was ascertained that the latest cables in regard to the London wool sales had nob aroused very great surprise. The present sales came at the tail-end of the season, and all the best shipments had previously passed under the hammer. Hence the statement in cables published this morning that "a rubbishy selection was offered," is not likejy to be taken very much to heart by New Zealand and Australian growers. Both in the Commonwealth and the Dominion a vast proportion of the wool is sold locally, and those growers who send Home direct to the London markets have disposed of their "best lots much earlier in the seaeon
