DRAMATIC CLUB.
The Wellington Dramatic Club gave a performance of the three-act comedy "Dr. Bill" at Fullford's Hall, Brooklyn, last night. The characters were taken by Misses Ivy Scott, Perry, Ruby Scott, Ellwood, Hay Roberts, Messrs. H. F. Woods, K. Aitken, H. E. Townshend, H. Aitken, W. H. Bedell, and C. E. Watson. An interesting stage has been reached in the progress, of Miramar. At last night's meeting of the Borough Council a permit for the erection of a. verandah was asked for. Special consideration was given to the matter as (so it was mentioned) the verandah, if erected, would be tha first one in the suburb. The Mayor, Mr. C. J. Crawford, said said lhat Wellington's verandahs were a disgrace to the city. He instanced the structures in Molesworth-street. On a wet day water gushed, through t defective spouts, in every direction. Another councillor also made a few condemnatory remarks. There was, he said, no uniformity in-^tyle, each verandah propping up or leaning against its neighbour. *
