MOTORS ON PUBLIC ROADS.
FINES FOR EXCESSIVE SPEED. [BY TELEGRAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The police have entered on a crusadeagainst excessive speed in motors on streets and roadb. Another case was before the court to-day, Dr. Diamond beig fined 20s and costs for ridi lg at a speed dangerous to public safety on the Sumner-road. Mr. Haselden, S.M., said the difficulty vas that motorists had one standard of speed and the public another. Arthur Hensmann was also fined 20s for a similar offence.
