The Women's Freedom League deputation last night renewed their peaceful blockade of the House of Commons, in the hope of obtaining a hearing from the Prime Minister. They were unsuccessful, and now propose to seek an audience with King Edward. A SELF-CONSTITUTED MARTYR. GOODS SOLD BY AUCTION. (Received July 8, 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, 7th July. Mrs. Despard, the woll-known Suffragist leader, refused to pay taxes until women were represented in the House of Commons. Her goods were seized, and rowdy scenes occurred when they were offered for sale by auction.
