WELLINGTON BOWLING CLUB.
♦ SOCIAL EVENING. Members of the Wellington Bowling Club and their friends met in the clubhouse last night for their annual reunion. The social evening was a decided success. First came an enjoyable entertainment, with a programme of music, song, and recitation, arranged by Mr. E. J. Hill. Tho chorus, "Merriest Fellows," from "The Gondoliers," was sung by the company, which consisted of Messrs. E. J. Hill, J. Blandford R Watts, P. Wilson, A. Twist, A. W. Newton, Parkes, Kenny, and Parsons. Then there were solos by Mrs. Buckeridge and Messrs. Parkes, Hill, Parsons, Blandford, and Kenny, and lecitations by Messrs-. Clark and Newton. Every item ■was encored by the large audience. At the close of the concert Mr. W. T Grundy, president of the club, presented to Mr. E. J. Hill, the Bush bracelet won during the last season. Mrs. Bush is the donor of the trophy. Dancing and cards followed, and supper was served in the basement. The success of the function was largely due to the activity of the secretary (Mr. W. Brunskill) and an energetic committee.
