THE HATAITAI BUILDING DISPUTE.
The hearing of the evidence in the civil case of Dutton v. Brcen was resumed to-day before Mr. Justice Sim. The caee involves a claim of £351 6s_ 5d — amount alleged to be due to plaintiff as balanco on a contract to build a house for tho defendants at Hataitai, since burned down — brought by Harold J. E. Dutton against Annie Breen and Edward Peter Breen. Mr. Dunn represented plaintiffs, and Mr. Blair defendants. Evidence regarding the_ general work of building, the class of timber, etc., and fittings and the plumbing was advanced. Mr. Dunn recalled the plaintiff to controvert several allegations of inferior workmanship, concerning which opposing counsel had not questioned him. After counsel for the plaintiff had addressed the court at length, his Honour intimated that he would reserve his decision.
