TWO CONSTABLES CHARGED.
ALI/EGED ASSAULT. CASES AGAIN ADJOURNED. The unusual cases in which two police constables — John Edward Watson and William Joseph Gardiner — are charged on two separate informations with having assaulted William Rolfe and Florence •Rolfe on the 10th inst., were again called on in the S.M Court to-day, before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M. The cases had been adjourned from list week, and this afternoon Inspector 'Ellison applied for a further adjournment. In making the request, he mentioned that the female informant was unable to appear; in fact, she was ronfined to her bed. He had received medical testimony to that effect. Accordingly, tke cases were further adjourned until Saturday morning next. •Mr. 'Herdman appeared on behalf of informants, and Mr. Wilford was for defendants.
