VANCOUVER MAIL SERVICE.
THE QUESTION OF RENEWAL. B7 Telegraph.— Frees AsaooUtion.— CopjiigHS. (Received May 12, 11.15 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The Postmaster-General (Hon. J. Thomas) has received a cable message from Canada, asking if the Commonwealth was willing to renew the existing Vancouver mail contract for another year. Mr. Thomas desires to obtain some improvement in the service if the contract is renewed for a year only. The whole matter was involved in the greater " All-Red " scheme, and although the contract would probably be renewed for the ensuing year, arrangements beyond that time were likely to form part of a j comprehensive "All-Red" scheme.
