Liberal newspapers declare that Lord Charles Beresford, Admiral Sir R. Custance, and some other officers are sceptical about the value of the Dreadnought battleships, and anxious that armoured ships of the pre-Dreadnoughts type should be distributed in the best possible manner, fully equipped, and in instant readiness for war. GERMAN ACTIVITY. • TWELVE LARGE DOCKS BUILT OR BUILDING. (Received May 12, 8.30 ajm.) BERLIN, 11th May. Twelve large German docks, capa-ble of accommodating Dreadnoughts, are built tor building, including nine in North Sea ports.
