Matheson, of Eketahurm, opened the discussion, with a thoughtful paper. It was decided to send a special message_ from the conference to Friends living in remote localities. Mr. A. Gregory, ot Dargaville, addressed the conference on "The Pre6ent Aspect of the Drink Question," and made many suggestions in regard to helping the temperance cause.
