i By Telegraph.— Prcs9 Association.— Copyright LONDON, 10th May. j One hundred and sixteen Liberal, Labour, and Irish members of the House of Commons have memorialised Mr. Asquith on behalf of the Indians deported as a result of recent trials for sedition in Bengal. Mr. Asquilh, in reply, says the appeal is natural, and he is not surprised that it should be widely and infiuentially supported. The Secretary of State for India and the Government of India were, however, the .only persons competent to judge the merits of the case.
