SECULAR EDUCATION.

SIR ROBERT STOUT ON THE ENGLISH TROUBLE. By Telegrapn.— Press Association.— Copyright. LONDON, 10th May. In an interview with a Daily News representative, Sir Robert Stout, Chief Justice of New Zealand, said that children secularly trained in New Zealand produced only half the criminals, in proportion to their numbers, compared with those trained in denominational schools. Sir Robert added: "The attitude of English Nonconformists and Liberals amazes me. They seek to disestablish a church, yet they seek to maintain a sectarian school as the children's church."
