The wedding is announced from King I Island of Miss Althea Allison Cundy, ] sixth daughter of the late Mr. William Cundy, to Mr. William E. Bowling, of King Island. The Wairarapa Bacon Factory at Carterton, which draws supplies from throughout the Valley, last week j slaughtered ninety-six pigs, and only six of them were found unfit for human consumption by the Government Inspector. A gift of 40 tons of coal was made to the trustees of the Benevolent Institution to-day by Messrs. J. Staples, Ltd., brewers. The coal is for distribution among the poor of Wellington during the winter. Not a single case of intoxication occurred last year among the 9000 inhabitants of Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire. Messrs. Under instructions from Mr. T. E. Donne, who is leaving for London, they are submitting his family residence, Wellington-terrace. The land has a front-age of 34ft 4-in to Wellington-terrace by a depth of 103 ft 9in, widening to 58fl on the back boundary, and adjoining Harbour View right-of-way, leading to Bouloott-street. The house, No. 223, contains 10 rooms, with balcony room and storeroom, and is fitted with electric light, electric bells, hot and cold water, and other conveniences. Sea anemones can live for three or four jeare without any nourishment other than that which they extract from the water.
