♦ DR. MOULTON. Bj Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright (Recoived May 10, 9.35 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Dr. Moulton, the well-known Methodist missionary, formerly of Tonga, is dead, at the age of 69. The Rev. J. E. Moulton was the son of a Wesleyan minister at North Shields, England, and arrived in Australia in May, 18&3. He was a schoolmaster and preacher of the fifth generation in succession. His first appointment in Sydney was as headmaster ot Newington College. He was for some time chairman of the Wesleyan Church at Tonga, and Principal of the Tubou College, in the iJtand. He translated the Bible into Tongan from the original tongues, and published some educational and other books in the Tongan language. The degree oi D.D. was conierred on him by the Victoria University of Toronto in 1899.
