PONY RACING AT MIRAMAR.. The May Meeting of the Wellington and Pony Galloway Racing Club was helrl on the Miramar Racecourse on Saturday in first-class weather, and in the presence of a numerous gathering of followers of the sport. The results were, as follows :—: — Rbna Handicap, of 20 soys ; second pony to receive 3 soys f 10m stakes ; four and a-half furlongs. — Anglican, 8.10 (Cooper), 1; Miss Ivy, 8.11 (Wadham), 2; Aurifera, 11.10 (Mallowes), 3. Also started — Heatherlea Lass, 10.1; Prince Roy, .8.63. A good race, won by half a length in the last few strides. Time, lmin 2 3-ssec. Fipst Maiden Handicap, of 20 soys ; second, pony to receive 3 soys from the stake ; four and a-half furlongs. — Reititi, 8.0. (Horn),' l; Stranded, ,8.5 (Cooper), 2; -Mermaid, 8.5 (Forrest), 3. Also started— After Dark, 9.3; Silence, 8.12; Seqyestrator, 8.9.; Sirrah, 8.5;, Little Pau|' 8.3 ; Vim, 8.2 ; Kotiro Mahi, 8.1. ReitTii got the lead soon after the start/, and won by a length, with plenty to spare. Time, lmin 3 4-ssec. May Handicap, of 40 soys ; second pony to receive 5 soys from the stake ; six- furlongs. — Psyche, 8.5 (Willoughby), 1; Moata, 10.13 (Eagar), 2; Billy, 10.2 (Pri{chard), 3. Also started — Miretta I 11.& Petronel 9.5, 'Inspiration 8.12, . Picotee 8.7. Inspiration cut out the running in the early part of the "race, j but v two furlongs I'rom home Psyche came* to the front, and won a close race by half a length ; a short nose separated second and third. Also started— Wee Nannie 9.6 J. Alutjny 8.5. Dorina came to light at the* Home turn, and won by half a length, a -length separating second and third. Time, 55sec. , Royal Handicap, -of 20 soys 5 second pony to receive 3 soys from the stake ; five and a half furlongs. — Anglican, '8.2 (Wadham), 1 ; Aurifera,ll.l3 (Mallowes), 2; Miss Ivy, 8.4 (Mason); 3. Also started — St. 'Helena 10.5. Less than half the distance^gone, Anglican led the way, but a good finish left him the winner by less than half a length. Time, lmin 18 4-ssec. Dominion Handicap, of 25 soys ; second pony to receive 5 soys from the stake ; four and a half furlongs. — Heatherlea Lass, 10.1 (Carmont), 1; Inspiration, 9.6 (Merton), 2; Sweet Lethe, 10.2 (Willoughby), 3. Also started— Lavinia 10.10, Taumano 10.2, Billy 9.11, Petronel 9.11, Lorna Doone 9.1, Merrimanu 8.10. Won by half a length, amid a demonstration. A protest against tho winner was dismissed.
