MARINE ENGINEERS.
AGREEMENT SANCTIONED BY THE COURT. By Telegraph —Press Association.— Copyright. MELBOURNE, 7th May. Mr. Justice Higgins, President of the Federal Arbitration Court, to-day made an order sanctioning the agreement between the Institute of Marine Engineers and v the Steamship Owners' Association covering wages and conditions of labour. Both parties concurred in the terms of agreement, which now operates as an award of the court.
A Lyttelton Times reporter has investigated a report that owing to poverty forty men were sleeping nightly in the city parks.'
