NAVY LEAGUE.

The .Navy League met last evening, the following attending: — Mr. 0. B. Harcourt (in the chair), Lieut. -Colonel G. T\ C. Campbell, Captain A. V. Jones, Messrs. D. M'Kellar, E. J. ( Le Grove, R. Darroch, J. M. Butt, and C. ,W. Palmer. The date of the regular monthly meetj ing was fixed for the first Thursday of each month. The committee approved the hon. secretary's action in sending naval lantern slides for use at 'Maeterton, and in ordering a further supply of new slides from (London. Oral assurance has been obtained from the Railway Department that spa<;e would be found for hanging the Navy League .wall map at some of the larger railway stations in the Dominion. "The British. Navy Under the Three Georges," was the subject chosen by the Prize SubCommittee for this year's essay at the school branches of the league. Navy League registers are being supplied for the use and convenience of various headmasters, and in connection with the enrolment of members. Thanks were tendered by the meeting to Colonel W. <H. Webb for a framed picture of H.M.S. Victory, presented to the league. The secretary reported that Captain do Costa, .R.N., of H.M.S. Challenger, had kindly offered to provide naval items in connection with the approaching annual meeting of the league, and it wa6 also intimated that, subject to the approval of the 'Headmasters' Association, matsed patriotic choruses by the juvenile members of the league weie proposed to be included. A sub-committee, consisting of 'Messrs. Darroch and Palmer, was appointed to draw up the programme and details as to date, and general arrangements were left in the secretary's hands. A large amount of correspondence was daxlt with. The bank bw&ncfla wire reported to aggregate £69 17s 3d.
