STORM AND WAKATU. {BX TELEGRAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] LYTTELTON, This Day. The small coastal steamers Storm (Maoriljyid Steamship Co.) and Wakatu (Levin and Co.) collided last night off Motunau Island. The Storm was bound for Lyttelton. The exact circumstances of the accident, which occurred at 9 o'clock, are not known. vessels seem to have headed at one another, and in an attempt to get clear the Wakatu struck the Storm's stern on the starboard side. There is a gaping hole in the Wakatu's bow, and the Storm's side is broken down above the deck, but she sustained no serious damage. Both vessels returned to Lyttelton. It was quite clear at the time.
