OBITUARY.
THE PRIMATE OF CANADA. By Telegraph.— Presa Association.— Copyright. OTTAWA, 25th January. The death is announced of the Most Rev. Dr. Arthur Sweatman, Archbishop and Metropolitan of Canada. The deceased Primate, who was born in 1834, after a course at Cambridge was appointed headmaster of Hellmuth Col lege, at London, Ontario. Subsequently he was made rector of Grace Church, Brantford, in the same province ; secretary to the Canadian House of Bishops, Archdeacon of Brant and rector of Woodstock, and in 1897 Bishop of Toronto. Ten years later he was advanced to the dignity of Archbishop of the Primacy of Canada.
