LEAKING SLIGHTLY. [BY TELEGRAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WANGANUI, This Day. When entering the channel last night after crossing the bat the stenmer Charles Edward went ashore at the end of the breakwater in courso of extension, the bow being between two newly-driven piles A heavy sea prevented assistance being given by the tug until noon to-day, when a hawser was run out. Tho sea is now calming-, arid hopes are entertained of refloating the vessel, after discharging her cj-.i-go of coal. The vessel is leaking slightly.
