AID FOR THE HOSPITALS.

The King's Hospital Fund distributed £140,000, an increase of £19,000 on last year's distribution. The fund was founded in 1897 by King Edward (then Prince of Wales) to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of Queen Victoria's reign. Up to the end of 1906 the amount received by the fund had been about £1,6,70,000, over £700,000 had been distributed among the London hospitals, and the invested funds amounted to close upon a million.
