In answer to questions put in the Assembly as to whether the Governor, Lora Chelmsford, had received a reply from Lord Crewe, Secretary of State \ for the Colonies, to the resolution passed last session dealing with the Governor's action in granting a dissolution, Mr. Kidston, the Premier, said that, the House had made no representations to the Home authorities on the subject. The Governor, however, had forwarded tho resolution to Lord Crewe, and had received a confidentia] reply. The fact, said Mr. Kidston, that the Governor had not been recalled indicated that the Home authorities bad approved his conduct.
