BOXING.
o GODFREY v. ELLIOTT. There is every indication of a record attendance at the Opera House next Tuesday evening, when Godfrey and Elliott meet to box for the featherweight championship of New Zealand. The box plans are filling rapidly, and there is a large demand for seats from people living out of Wellington. Both lads are training assiduously, and the contest is expected to be one of the most even ever held in Wellington. An alteration has been made in the preliminary bouts — W. J. Smith, of Petone, replacing Parry against J. O'Donoghue. The box plan is at Armit's, Lambton-quay.
The matron of the Alexandra Home acknowledges with thanks donations of £1 Is from Mrs. Rhodes, and a ham (giver unknown) for Christmas ; also clothing from Miss Greenwood and Mrs. Morrah, for the use of the inmates. •
