AMATEUR ATHLETICS IN AUCKLAND.
(By Telegraph.' — Pbess Association.} AUCKLAND, This Day. Tho thirty-third annual meeting of the Auckland Amateur Athletic Club was held last evening, theTe being' a large attends nee. The president, Mr. Leo Myers, in, tho opening remarks, stated that a big effort would be made to revive amateur athletics in Auckland. The piospects were very encouraging, and they could, take an optimistic view of the club's future. The large number of applications for membership was a most gratifying feature. The bal-ance-sheets showed a credit of £21 7s sd. The following officeis were- elected : — President, Mr. Leo Myers ; vice-pre-sidents, Mesrs. A. Plugge, F. J. Ohlson, and K. T. Major ; lion, secretary, Mr. J. F. Magill ; hon. treasurer, Mr. M. J. Sheehan; committee, Messrs. Hanson, H. Frost, S. Somerfield, G. Donaldson, D. Gallaher, J. E. Fagan, F. Wilson, S. Bass, J. F. Collins; hon. auditor, Mr. P. R. Fraser. The annual sports meeting will be held in March in conjunction with the New Zealand Marathon race.
