WOOL SALES.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following cablegram from its London house: — "As compared with last sales, closing rates prices are higher about 5 io 7i per cent, for crossbred lambs and scoured merino, about 10 per cent, for medium and coarse greasy crossbred and crossbred slipe, and about 7£ to 10' per cent, for ccoured crossbred. Of 168,000 bales sold 85,000 were taken ior the Continent and 15,000 for America, and 10,000 bales v. ere held over. The sales closed with good competition. Coarse crossbreds declined 2i to 5 per cent, from the highest point during the series."
