A FORECAST
0 LLOYD-GEORGE'S NEXT BUDGET. GRADUATED INCOME-TAX. INCREASE OF DEATH DUTIES. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. (Received December 15, 8 a.m.) LONDON, 14th December. Sir S. T. Evans, Solicitor-General, speaking at Nantymoel, Glamorganshire, prophesied that Mr. LloydGeorge, Chancellor of the Exchequer, would adopt the principle of a graduating income- tax. Personally, said the Solicitor-General, ho hoped it would be possible to increa.c 3 the estate duties on millions devolving at death. The Solicitor-General's hint may be meant to prepare people for the increase of taxation which is generally thought to be inevitable. The financial proposals in connection with education, it is understood, will also be included in the next Budget, which cannot be amended by the House of Lords, but which that House may throw out, and so force a dissolution.
