STATEMENT BY POSTAL AUTHORITIES.
CHRISTCHURCH, sth Now The Post Office authorities state that they will send out the Licensed Victuallers' Association's circulars to-morrow, 6th November, in accordance with the agreement. There are about 100,000 of them. A communication was received from the head office in Wellington tor day stating that there could be no objection to making arrangements for delivering large numbers of circulars on a date in advance of the day on which they are sent to the office. The authorities also state that it would be impossible to deal with 100,000 circulars in ono day, and that if it is desired to deliver them on a certain date they must be forwarded to the office some days previously. The stamping, sorting, and other work takes up a great deal of time. It is the custom to adopt the course that is now being followed.
