ALLEGED UNFAIR TACTICS.
AN EMPHATIC DENIAL. fBT TBWEGKAPH — BBESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHUBCH, sth Nov. Mr. E. Nordojj, secretary of the Licensed Victuallers' Association, was seen this mormng by a Truth reporter in reference to a telegram forwarded by the Eev. L. M. Isitt to the Prime Minister, alleging that the postal authorities were being used by the Licensed Victuallers' Association for the purpese of keeping back certain printed matter in connection with the local option poll. Mr. Nordon characterised the charges in the telegram as absolutely false, and stated that the agreement which he had made with the postal authorities was for their assistance, and was made quite openly. It was an arrangement which had been made for many years past, and one which prevented the ordinary business being dislocated. To post 70,000 circulars altogether on one day would make it impossible for the limited staff of the post office to gee them out in reasonable time.
