VICTORIA COLLEGE COUNCIL
The Victoria College Council met last evening. The following were present — Messrs T. R. Fleming (chairman), H. D. Bell, C. Watson, A. R. Meek, H. F. yon Haast, F. P. Wilson, A. T. Maginnity, J. Graham, and W. H. Quick. Payments to the amount of £644 17s lOd were passed. The monthly state.ment of finances showed a balance of £1691 18s 3d on the general account, and one of £14 5s 3d on the laboratory account. In connection with previous reference to the university extension lectures, Mr. A. T. Maginnity, of Nelson, moved as follows — "That the professors be consulted as to the possibility of delivering a series of lectures during the long vacation to the students of Nelson College and District High Schools under the administration of the Nelson Education Board, and other high schools, in Marlborough, Wanganui, Napier, New Plymouth and Auckland, and upon what terms ; the professors to suggest the subjects of the classes they would recommend." The motion, which was seconded by Mr. F. P. Wilson, 1 was carried unanimously.
