The Union Company's steamer Warrimoo, from Sydney, came across to Wellington in 3 days 17 hours, light variable winds and a slight sea having been encountered throughout the voyage. The vessel left Sydney at 3.30 p.m. on tbe ISth inst., passed Stephens Island at 6.30 this morning, arrived in the stream about 11 a.m., and was berthed about 12.45 at No. 6, Queen's Wharf. TOO MUCH SEA. From Greymouth the Union Company received word this morning that there were hopes of despatching the Arahura at 2 o'clock this afternoon on her return trip to Wellington. There was too much sea to permit of her leaving this morning. PATENT SLIP. The Union Company's steamer Penguin came off the Patent Slip this morning, and arrangements were made /or the Blenheim traders Opawa and Waihi to take her place in the cradle. GOVERNMENT STEAMERS. She is due , here about the Bth September. THE ATHENIC. The Shaw-Savill liner Athenic Js due to leave London to-morrow for Wellington via Capetown and Hobart. Tiie Pederal-Houlder-Shire liner Fifeshire left Lyttelton at 1 o'clock this morning for Waitara and Wellington. The Norfolk, of the same line, arrived at 'Dunedin at 9.30 this morning. The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Rimutaka, now loading in the South, is expected to arrive at Lyttelton on Sunday next. After a couple of days in port there, the vebsel will come to Wellington to complete her loading, and will sail finally from this port on the 27tU inst. The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Waimate, from London, via Dunedin and Timaru, is expected to arrive at Lyttelton on Thursday to finish discharging her inward cargo.
