THE SENATE RESIGNS. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. ST. PETERSBURG, 23rd May. The Finnish Senate has resigned owing to the unfavourable effect of the ■speech delivered by M. Stolypin, in the Duma last Tuesday. Speaking in the Duma, M. Stolypin, the Russian Premier, affirmed that one of Russia's principal grievances was Finland's adoption of laws affecting Imperial interests without consulting the Imperial Government. He complained that Finland harboured revolutionaries, and stated that legislation would bo introduced placing the relations between Russia, and the Grand Duchy on a more rational basis, while respecting Finland's autonomous rights. The Diet was dissolved recently, on the ground that it had got beyond Government control.
