EVIDENCE AT THE INQUEST.

At the inquest on the Braybrook disaster in which the Bendigo train crashed into the Ballarat tiain, Mr. Bayley, consulting engineer, gave evidence that the brakes on the Bendigo train were the most inferior he had ever seen on a Victorian main line passenger train. Despite tl\is, the brakes were sufficient to have stopped the train before the accident.
