The gatekeepers tried to secure the robber, and in tho struggle the robber deliberately fired tho revolver at one of the keepers. Fortunately he missed, and then escaped. Barnawaitha is no doubt the township whoro tho exciting eposido occurred. It is situated on Indigo Creek, 174 miles north-cn&t of Melbourne, on tho northeastern line of railway.
