o DEGREE CONFERRED ON HIM. SUCCESSES OF COLONIAL STUDENTS. By Telegraph.— P.-ess Afsociation.-Copyrieht. OTTAWA, 26th February. The Magill University, Montreal, has conferred the degreo of Doctor of Laws on the Right Hon. James Bryce, British Ambassador to tho United States. In the course of a speech afc the ceremony, Mr. Bryce, in referring to the success achieved by colonials at Oxford, laid emphasis on what would be gained if British students came to Canada, or went to Australasia. Mr. Bryce, who was appointed Ambassador to the United States last year, is a B.A. and D.C.L. of Oxford. His honorary degrees include LL.D. of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Michigan, and St. Andrew's University, Doctor of Political Science of Royal Hungarian University of Buda Pesth, Doctor of Literature of Victoria University, D.C.L. Trinity University, Toronto, Doctor of Literature of Cambridge Univeisity, and Honorary Fellow of Trinity and Oiiel Colleges, Oxford.
