THE CITY ABATTOIRS.

«s»PLANS SUBMITTED TO COUNCIL.

Two important matters were reported on last night by the Public Abattoirs, Milk Supply, and Public Health Committee of the City Council. Concerning the abattoirs, the committee recommended that plans that night laid upon the table be approved. The committee further reported chat it had completed a report dealing with the whole milk supply of the city, but that it desired able to submit an alternative scheme which it had not had time to^ prepare. The committee desired, further, to report fully on both schemes to next meetiDg of the council. In moving tho adoption of the report, Councillor Murdoch said that the plans, if carried out, would provide the city with one of the most up-to-date abattoirs in the Dominion. He thought that authority to go on with the abattoirs as soon as practicable should be given by the council, and that the matter should be referred to the finance committee for the purpose of considering "ways and means. These suggestions were adopted, and the report as brought down was confirmed.
