[CX TELEGEArH. — PKES3 ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, This Day. Under the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1907, provision is made for giving preference to landless applicants in Crown land ballots. The^ first application of the new Act in Auckland operates in regard to 6500 acres in tho counties of Waitomo, Whakatane, Whangarei, Otomatea and Waitemata. A ballot arranged for to-day was postponed to 10th March in order that the Land Board may discover which of tho applicants are landless and entitled to preference.
