A DISPUTED CONTRACT.
COAL COMPANY AND AGENTS. A dispute arising out of an agreement between a coal company and their agents was heatS before Mr. Justice Chapman to-day. The agents in question were Henry Montague Fcild and Thomas Andrew Hemming Field, of Nelson, who sued the Puponga Coal Company, of Golden Bay, Nelson, for £5632 6b 6d damages for alleged breach of agreement to employ them as agents to sell the whole of the company's output. The damages were estimated 'oh commission at 10 per cent, of the company's output during throe years. The case entailed legal argument by counsel on the points of law involved. Mr. Myers, with him Mr. Ostler, appeared for the plaintiffs, Mr. Mouson, with him Mr. Richmond Fell for the defendant company. (Left sitting).
