BOWLING. THE WELLINGTON CLUB'S CARNIVAL,

A DECISIVE VICTORY. On "Saturctay the members of the Wellington Club played the "World" — otherwise teams from the other city and suburban clubs. The result was a victory for Wellington bj 350 points to 249. The losing teams represented by two rinks each, except in the case of tb.e Eastbourne Club, which only put one in the field. Newtown was tho only club on the losing side which succeeded iv making a win against tho team which the victors put in the field. Some close contests, however, ware witnessed during the day. A large in^ber of ]<cdia4 '.were pre ; sent. Tho visitor's were welcomed in a brief soeech by the president of the Wellington Club, Mr. Thomas Bush, and the ladies helped towards the afternoon's enjoyment by handing round afternoon tea.. , .The grean was in pretty good order, and tho carnival -vfas most (successful and enjoyable.
