HARBOUR BOARD. ELECTION OF CITY REPRESENTATIVES.

PAYERS OF DUES ELECT MR, CECIL W. JONES. MESSRS. FLETCHER, AND BOLTON RETURNED FOP, THE CITY. The polling for the election of two members to represent the city on tho Wellington ' Harbour Board yesterday was regrettably small. Though therewere 21,527 electors on the roll, only 5368 valid votes were recorded. These figures, however, cannot be taken as an exact index of the number of people who voted. Each ratepayer had the rigivt to vote for two candidates, and where that privilege ivas exercised the total vote of course increased out of all proportion to tho number of persons who actually went to tho ballot. Polling was very slow throughout the day. The poll closed at 6 'p.m., and 45 minu es later the returning officer, Mr. James Ames, was able to announce- the result. The complete figures for each booth were : — c.
