A BY-ELECTION.
» LIBERAL RETURNED UNOPPOSED. By T«lc«riph.— Prww Association.— Cop.-rigbt. LONDON, 6th February. The Hon. Thomas C. R. Agar-Rob-artes, Liberal, has been returned unopposed for the Mid-Cornwall seat in the House of Commons, rendered vacant by the resignation of Mr. W. A. MAr Wmr. Mr, W. A. M' Arthur (Liberal) resigned as a consequence of the firm of W and A- M' Arthur and Company going into liquidation. The new member, tho eldest son of Viscount Clifderi, was born in May, 1880. In 1906 he was elected M.P. for Bodmin Division of Cornwall in tho Liberal interest, but was unseated on petition. \.t the general election Mr M 'Arthur beat Mr. Garnett (Conservative) by 5657 votes to 2516.
